The Mysterious Benedict Society


When orphan Reynie and his tutor see an ad in the paper for intelligent kids, Reynie doesn't know that his life is about to change. After a series of bizarre exams, Reynie and three new friends form the Mysterious Benedict Society, and the four kids enter the Learning Institute for the Very Enlightened (LEARN). There, the children are supposed to figure out the evil doings of the head of the school, Mr. Curtain. From memory erasing to brainwashing, the children soon figure out that Mr. Curtain will stop at nothing to take over the world.

Her ex-boyfriend is a rock star whom she hasn't heard from in awhile. Then his picture on the cover of the Rolling Stones makes her wonder if he wants her back.... Though the book deals with some dark issues, the main character promises it's not a sob story.
