Robin Perry decides to enlist in the Army after the 9/11 attacks, despite his parent's wishes that he attend college after high school. Assigned to a Civil Affairs unit in Iraq, "Birdy," (as his unit members call him), realizes that there are many gray areas in war. He's not sure how the situation in Iraq could ever be brought to peace. And Birdy's safety is threatened with every mission.
